Workshop organized in Kinshasa by Congo Basin Conservation Society:
Good news for agroecology advocacy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ????????
Since taking office, the National Minister of Agriculture in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been working alongside the agroecology movement to promote the integration of agroecology into national agricultural policy. This step aligns with national priorities as well as international commitments on biodiversity conservation and the fight against climate change.
Following high-level advocacy workshops held in Kinshasa by the Congo Basin Conservation Society, the Minister has officially established a National Service for Agroecological Security and Protection.
This marks a major milestone: the agroecological transition in the DRC is no longer just a dream, but an institutional reality in progress.
Congratulations to all actors and partners involved in achieving this historic step.
