The agroecological transition project in the DRC

The agroecological transition project in the DRC, implemented by the CBCS Network, is now focusing on supporting the resources diversification of agricultural cooperatives.

These women, who are members of agricultural cooperatives in the seven villages where we are supporting local communities and indigenous peoples in safeguarding chempazin conservation forests, have organised themselves into village savings and credit associations (AVECs), enabling them to achieve seed and financial self-sufficiency.

The path forward for agroecological transition requires integrated approaches that promote agricultural production diversity and economic resilience in a context of climate change.
