The Main Agricultural Season A Is Officially Underway in Wamaza

The main Season A agricultural campaign is now officially underway in Wamaza, Maniema Province. As part of its efforts to promote agroecology and food sovereignty, the NGO Congo Basin Conservation Society (CBCS-NETWORK) has officially launched the distribution of seeds to beneficiary farming communities.

On this first day, the villages of KAPEYA, MULALA, LUPANGA, and KANGWANGWA received their agricultural inputs, marking a decisive step towards more sustainable and resilient farming.

This initiative goes far beyond the simple distribution of seeds: it is a concrete response to the impacts of climate change and external dependency. The seeds provided, adapted to local conditions, will enable smallholder farmers to strengthen their autonomy, preserve biodiversity, and ensure healthy and nutritious food for their families.

The goal is twofold: increase local food production and sustainably improve household livelihoods.

As the campaign slogan reminds us:

“Seeds today, greater food security tomorrow!”

Through this agricultural campaign, CBCS-NETWORK reaffirms its commitment to supporting rural communities in Wamaza towards an agricultural model that:
