As part of its advocacy for agroecology and approching the agriculture and environment conference,  Maniema Province in DRC has taken a significant step forward in the agroecological transition in the DRC.
On 3 April 2026, the Congo Basin Conservation Society (CBCS-Network) officially submitted the provincial agroecology strategy to the Provincial Governor for signature.
This important milestone was achieved following the involvement of civil society, indigenous peoples and local communities.
The next step involves advocacy for integrating this provincial agroecology strategy into the budget of the province and its decentralised territorial entities.
